The Rockwell RK4247K 5-Inch Random Orbit Sander stands above other sanders because it doesn’t just dampen vibration, it cancels it out. The active vibration canceling technology of the RK4247K reduces vibration by 50 percent making this Random Orbit Sander extremely comfortable and safe to use. The patented design is based on two counter-acting pads that move in opposite directions – directing the vibration into sanding instead of your hand. The RK4247K Random Orbit Sander also has an innovative dust collection system that separates dust particles from the air and traps them inside the dust collection box. This dust collection box never clogs, loses suction, or wears out like a cloth bag. There are 15 unique hook and loop sanding sheets included, or additional grits sold separately for replacement: RW9211, RW9212, RW9213, RW9214, RW9215, RW9216, RW9217, RW9218, RW9223.

I have read negatives on the proprietary sand paper, i.e. sm. circlular portion for the center and a ring on the outer…

Expensive and Annoying I do sanding of furniture for a living and have gone through many orbital sanders. Most do a fine job but just do not last that long if you use them on a daily basis. I am familiar with many other brands, but I was intrigued by this model because of the high quality look and also the vibrate free feature. I did not realize until the product came that it requires a special sandpaper that is not easy to find. It is also at least twice as expensive as the regular orbital sandpaper I can…
