Nice L’il Sander The review I read about it running hot are pretty accurate. It does get hot after a short while, but for a little feller, it’ll sho’nuff eat up some wood! It’s easy to avoid the heat by holding the front handle and the cord at the rear. If “one handed” use is necessary, simply grip near the front end, where it runs much cooler. It’s the rear portion that gets hot, but I haven’t found it to be too detrimental.I took one of the reviewer’s advice and ordered some Mirka belts for it…

I am sanding about 30 pieces of 24″x2’x2″ white oak using this sander. This should be a simple task. By the forth piece the sander started getting REALLY hot. It is so hot there are areas of it I cannot touch. I am using 80 grit with little to no pressure. I am writing this during one of my many “cool down” breaks. I plan to return this item.

Work as well as the originals, at a much better price. Would recommend purchasing this brand of belts without hesitation.
