  1. Needs some work, but OK considering the cost I have a small garage shop with very limited room. I have an excellent Jet Belt/Disc sander already, but needed a small 1″ belt sander for those small jobs, so I bought this portable unit from Grizzly. Good points: small and light, but the rubber feet hold it firmly on the workbench. Seems powerful enough. The belt tracking adjustment is a little cheesy but seems to work OK. The left side cover is plastic and easily removed to allow access to the belt mechanism. The dust port is also…

  2. Kevin from PA First of all, this sander does not come with a nice shiny black metal motor as seen in picture, instead black plastic. It is very light and portable. The problem is you can not sand a true 90o angle no matter how much you adjust the table and belt back support. Motor bogs down very easily.I’ll probably give to my neighbor. If any one has found a 1″ belt sanders that sands a true 90o angle sander please tell me make and model.

  3. Great machine, great price… I bought this sander from amazon.com. I have a 4″ craftsman that I use for my heavy-duty stuff, but I needed this stand-up style belt for one kind of job. For less than $100 its a great machine. It tracks well, the belt is decent quality, the motor is quiet and powerful.I would not recommend this to be the ONLY sander you have in your shop, but if you need the free-standing belt style for some jobs, this is a great buy!
