POWER TO SPARE I have used this drill for a couple of months now, and it does have power. Drilling 1 inch holes through a 4×4? Not a problem! It goes through without slowing down.But it is also easy to drive screws in just right as there is a lot of trigger control for a wide range of speed control.In short, a good a around drill.

No Speed Control I got this drill after reading all the good reviews. The trigger does not control the so called variable speed. Thinking this one was faulty, I sent it in to the SKILL warrantee place to be repaired or replaced (it cost me $12. I got it back with the tag showing they replaced the switch. They obviously did not test it as it still runs only at high speed. I want a drill that can be used to drive screws. This one can’t be used for that. I returned it to Amazon for a refund.

Very pleased I purchased the Skil 3/8″, 6.5 Amp drill on Aug 23, 2011, and used it to work on my home. The power and speed were impressive and met my needs very well. I really liked the drill. However, while using it with a sanding disk to remove paint from a window, it locked up. It appeared that the bearing burned up. The 30-day window for return to Amazon had passed; however, I called Skill and they directed me to send it back to them. They replaced it with a new drill within a week. The new drill…
