Might not be the best unit, but a great choice for me. I bought this drill because I needed to secure 2x4s for some new walls in a basement to the concrete floor. I also needed to add some conduit mounts and junction boxes to accomodate a couple of new circuits for a workshop. I used it with 3/8″ x 3″ Tapcons for the floor studs and some 1.5″ for the conduit mounts. I used the bits that came with the Tapcons.I bought this Black & Decker with mid-level expectations; I wasn’t sure if I would have to go a bit slower or if the drill…

Unbelievably Disappointed This drill seemed like a good idea, and the other reviews were great. The drill I received broke the first day. The chuck-locking button doesn’t hold the shaft in place at all. This happened when putting in the very first drill bit so in order to put in a bit I have to hold the shaft with needle-nose pliers and spin the chuck tight. I think the chuck lock button was a terrible idea to begin with but even worse when they must have manufactured it out of the cheapest material they could find. I…

Great drill! I bought this drill because I was building a garden shed and needed to put anchor bolts into an existing concrete foundation. This drill did the trick! It was like drilling into butter, it worked so well.One note, in reference to the other reviewer, this drill does have a switch on top that allows you to choose between high speed or high torque.
